Premiered April 1914 at the Mark Strand Theatre in New York, New York. / Standard 35mm spherical 1.33:1 format. / Farnum’s film debut. The film was expanded (to 12 reels) and rereleased in 1916; the new footage included a shot of Rex Beach at work — this footage is now presumed lost. The novel was subsequently filmed as The Spoilers (1923).
